WooCommerce 3.3 is out, introducing mainly new visual improvements. Ensuring a smooth multilingual workflow on your eCommerce site is one of our main priorities. This is why we always test the beta versions of WooCommerce with WooCommerce Multilingual to make sure that they play well together.

WooCommerce 3.3 new features

The majority of the features added to this release of WooCommerce are visual and don’t really affect the logic of how things work. The new release brings a redesigned order screen, enhancements in stock management, controlling the product images size, and many other features. These changes won’t interrupt the multilingual workflow as we performed many tests to guarantee the compatibility.

The issues we spotted and fixed

In our tests, we found a couple of compatibility issues between WooCommerce 3.3 and WooCommerce Multilingual (WCML). We have released a new version of WooCommerce Multilingual (2.4.9) where all issues are resolved. Please ensure running this update as it will prevent you from running into any compatibility issues when updating to WooCommerce 3.3. Here is a quick list of the issues that we fixed:

  1. Checking out on the secondary language shop results in a “Bad Request”. The fix allows you to normally proceed to the checkout page on the secondary language.
  2. In WooCommerce 3.3 there are a few deprecated functions that were displaying deprecation notices with WooCommerce Multilingual. To fix this, we mapped WooCommerce Multilingual to use the new functions.

As for WooCommerce extensions, we are still in the process of testing the multilingual workflow to make sure that you have a flawless multilingual experience.
