Background of the issue:
My site is in Italian (pages and articles). In the short term, I don't plan to translate the bulk of the content into another language. I do however need one custom post type which will only have content in English. A key group of visitors for this site are Italians studying English. I'm using WPML for its management of hflang tags.
Symptoms:
My concern is that an Italian visitor needs to be able to access the English content (so language switchers might cause a problem). I'd like the English content to be indexed and searchable, but only in English.

What would be the best way to set this up so I don't cause SEO problems?
