Background of the issue:
I am trying to work on a website using Elementor (Pro) and WPML. An interesting issue popped up today. When I have a language set to hidden in WPML (for example, when still preparing the language), editing a page in that hidden language completely breaks the Elementor editor. Making the language visible in the WPML settings fixes this and makes pages and templates editable again. I also made a bug report at Elementor: الرابط المخفي.
Symptoms:
When a language is set to hidden in WPML, editing a page in that language breaks the Elementor editor, preventing me from editing pages. Making the language visible resolves the issue.
