Background of the issue:
I am working on a website with 8 languages using WPML. English (USA) is the main language, and I also have English (Europe) with the hreflang code en-eu, which seems invalid. I want to change it to en-uk. I tried changing the hreflang in WPML-> languages -> Edit languages, but the change is not reflected in the code.
Symptoms:
The hreflang change to en-uk is not showing in the code despite making the change in WPML settings. There is no caching plugin or server cache, and clearing WPML cache did not help.
Questions:
How can I ensure the hreflang change is reflected in the code?
Is there a step I am missing in the WPML settings to update the hreflang?
