Background of the issue:
I have been working on translating our website into Spanish using WPML/XLIFF files exported from WordPress VIP. An external agency handled the translation, but after importing the translated files, we noticed issues with internal links not updating to point to the Spanish versions. We attempted manual corrections in WordPress, but links within posts, both in the native editor and ACF fields, still need updating. We are using WordPress VIP, which does not provide write access to files. The agency assumed WPML would automatically handle link translations. The site is الرابط المخفي, and the Spanish pages are not live.
Symptoms:
I have added a screenshot of es page and down you can see one of link still in italain, we cannot take that as its not published
Questions:
Why are internal links not updating to the Spanish versions after importing translations?
How can I ensure that links within posts and ACF fields are correctly updated?
