Background of the issue:
I am trying to change the product category on translated products using WPML and WooCommerce. I am editing directly in the WordPress product editor, not using the WPML Advanced Translation Editor. All product categories are translated and correctly linked between languages. Both 'Products' and 'Product categories' are set as 'Translatable' in WPML settings. This issue only occurs on translated products, while changing categories on the default (English) version works fine.
Symptoms:
When I edit a translated product and try to change its category, the change doesn’t stick. After updating the product, it reverts to the previous category. There is no error message, but the new category is not saved.

Why does the product category revert to the previous category after updating a translated product?
How can I ensure that changes to product categories on translated products are saved?
