Background of the issue:
I am trying to maintain manual edits on the German translation of my WordPress site pages, which were originally translated from Italian using WPML. I have disabled automatic translation for the entire site in WPML settings.

Symptoms:
Whenever I update the original Italian page, the German version reverts to its original state, losing all my manual edits.

Questions:
How can I stop the German translation from reverting to its original state after updating the Italian page?
How can I preserve my manual changes in the German translation when updating the Italian version?
