Hello WPML Support Team,
we performed a technical SEO audit using SE Ranking and detected over 600 hreflang errors across the site.
The main issues are:
- Missing return (confirmation) links in hreflang pages
- Hreflang URLs not linking back to each other (non-reciprocal links)
In many cases, page A points to page B via hreflang, but page B does not point back to page A.
As a result, search engines may ignore or misinterpret the hreflang signals.
We believe this may be related to how WPML generates or manages hreflang tags.

- What could be causing this in WPML
- Which settings or components should be checked immediately
- How to correctly regenerate or fix hreflang links at scale
