[تم الحل] My string transations are messed up by default

Background of the issue:
I try to translate my Options page content created with JetEngine. I am following the documentation by going to the string translation settings in WPML, clicking 'Translate texts in admin screens' at the bottom, searching for the field I want to translate, and adding them to the string translation to translate it.

Symptoms:
The language is messed up. My default language of the website is German, and I need to translate it to English. The problem is that I have just the option to translate it to German, and the default language of these strings is English, which is exactly the opposite way as it is supposed to be.

Questions:
Why are my string translations showing the default language as English instead of German?
How can I correct the default language for string translations in WPML?
