[נפתר] Translations not reflecting when updating URLs

Background of the issue:
I have just updated our site's permalinks and now wish to manually update the Pages and Posts internal links to the new permalink format. I am currently using a staging site. I am opening the primary language page, making the link edits, and then opening the ATE for each language I need to translate/update the URLs for. I make the change in the ATE, save all segments, and they remain saved when I have reopened and checked.

Symptoms:
The changes do not reflect on the frontend.

Questions:
Why are the updated URLs not reflecting on the frontend after saving them in the ATE?
Is there a specific step I am missing when updating URLs in WPML?
OR is it because I am on a staging site and the changes will reflect when I clone back to our main/live domain?
