Problem:
The client is experiencing an issue where the WPML language switcher added to the footer with the shortcode

wpml_language_selector_widget

breaks the website instead of switching the language.
Solution:
1. Ensure that any redirection plugins are deactivated as they might interfere with the language switcher.
2. Perform a full backup of the website.
3. Deactivate any cache plugins that might be causing the issue, as confirmed by the client that deactivating these resolved the problem.
4. Check if the website and the language switcher function correctly after these adjustments.
