Problem:

If you're experiencing an issue where after adding a translation to a page and saving it, you encounter a continuous spinning wheel in the backend, and the translated language does not get saved.

Solution:

We recommend following these steps:

1. Open the affected page translation in the WPML Translation Editor and ensure that the translation is fully completed (100%).
2. Check if the translated page is displaying correctly on the frontend.

If the translation appears complete and visible on the frontend, the issue might be related to a synchronization problem with the Translation Editor. Please proceed with the following troubleshooting steps after a full site backup (mandatory):

- Go to WPML>>Support page, click on the Troubleshooting link.
- On the Troubleshooting page, click on the following options in the *Clean up* section and wait for confirmation of processing after each one:
- Clear the cache in WPML
- Remove ghost entries from the translation tables
- Fix element_type collation
- Set language information
- Fix WPML tables collation
- Assign translation status to duplicated content
- Fix terms count
- Fix post type assignment
- Cleanup and optimize string tables
- Synchronize local job IDs with ATE jobs
- Synchronize translators and translation managers with ATE
