When translating a taxonomy term slug from English to French, the client encounters an error message stating that the slug is already in use by another term, preventing them from using the same slug in both languages.
Solution: 1. Navigate to WPML → Taxonomy Translation and select the taxonomy you wish to translate using the drop-down menu. 2. Click the plus icon to add or adjust the translations. Here, you can remove the '-fr' from the French slug.
