Problem: The client had an issue with incorrect URLs appearing in their Yoast product sitemap, causing a large number of 30x redirects on their WooCommerce store which is multilingual (Finnish and English).
Solution: We recommended installing and activating the WPML SEO plugin, which is essential for formatting multilingual content for SEO purposes, especially when using SEO tools like Yoast SEO. After the client installed the WPML SEO plugin and regenerated the sitemap, the issue was resolved, and both Finnish and English product URLs were correctly displayed in the sitemap. It is normal for a single sitemap to contain both default language content and content in other languages, and search engine crawlers will adjust the links for each language accordingly.
