Overview of the issue

Users utilizing ACF Flexible Content Fields with various Layouts or Repeater Fields with an uneven number of subfields in different languages may find these fields do not sync properly with their translations when the original field is modified:

  • If you update the original post by changing the layouts in an existing Flexible Content Field, the post translation gets corrupted and the last layout disappears.
  • If you add more repeater subfields to translation than original post, they will be deleted after saving the post.
  • This only happens when translating a post or page “manually”, by switching languages in the WP Editor.

  1. Hello,

I have the same issue on my project.

I tried the workaround but without success.

Do you know the release date of ACMF 1.9.0 ?

    Thanks

  2. We are having the same issue. There needs to be some sort fix… last time this happend (because we updated our original flexible content layouts) all syncing broke. The only way I could get syncing working again was to deinstall and reinstall WPML from the ground up. That is not really and option going forward because we update our flexible layouts frequently. Please put resources behind this fix as it is so essential!

  3. Do you guys have any idea when ACFML 1.9.0 will be releasing, or at least a beta?

I’ve browsed through numerous support threads about this issue, and so far no solutions work.
Same goes for the solution mentioned on this page.

The issue in question is quite severe, as content is literally breaking and updating flexible content isn’t possible.

  4. I use Enfold Theme as child theme. Main language is English and second language is Spanish. When open the translated page I lose all my web design. The page looks like the default template and I even see a duplicated flag of the language in the top menu.

The site is not still published, but the URL is https://montrealsa.com
