Problem:
You are experiencing significant slowness on your site with WPML, taking about 8 seconds to load interfaces within the admin panel and several seconds to retrieve basic pages. Additionally, you encountered an 'ATE Server Communication Unable to authenticate' error.
Solution:
1. For the general slowness, check if any post types and taxonomies are set to 'display as translated' in WPML->Settings and consider disabling this setting.
2. Disable 'Adjust IDs for multilingual functionality' at WPML > Languages > Make themes work multilingual, unless your theme requires this setting.
3. Turn off 'Track where strings appear on the site' in String Translation.
4. In WPML->Support->Troubleshooting, run the following actions:
- Cleanup and optimize string tables
- Clear invalid strings
- Remove ghost entries from WPML tables
5. Regarding the 'ATE Server Communication Unable to authenticate' error, follow these steps:
- Navigate to WP > Plugins > Add New > Commercial Tab.
