This has nothing to do with WPML, but I’m sure you’ll still like it. When I noticed what’s happening, I hardly believed it. Tried again and it really works. Chrome recognizes WordPress sites and uses their search feature!
Here’s a video that shows how it works:
This is what I’m doing:
- In Chrome, go to the address bar and type in the site’s URL
- Add a space
- Enter a search string. I typed in « wpml.org getting started »
- Chrome redirects me to the WordPress search URL: http://wpml.org/?s=getting+started&lang=en
From what I can tell, Chrome remembers my surfing history. Once I’ve run a search on a WordPress site, it understands that this is possible. Next time, I can do the search from the address bar, like it shows in that clip.
Tell me, is this working for you too?
