Problem: The client with 'editor' permissions is unable to access the WPML plugin and can only view pages in English, not in French. Solution: We recommend checking if the user with the 'editor' role is assigned as a translator for the French language. This can be done by navigating to WPML → Translation Management → Translators. Here, you can define the language pairs for the user. For more detailed instructions, please refer to our documentation: How to set up local translators and language pairs.

Problem:
The client's 'Services' and 'Benefits' pages were not translated into French.
Solution:
We changed the custom post type 'Services' (cpt_services) to 'Translatable' in WPML > Settings > Post Types Translation.
We also made the custom taxonomy 'Services Group' translatable in the Taxonomies Translation section. For more information, please refer to our documentation on translating custom posts.
Next, navigate to Dashboard > Services, and translate the services' custom posts.
Problem:
The client installed the WPML plugin and noticed that some elements in the header and other sections were not fully translated.
Solution:
Those texts were created in English while the default language of the site is French.
Please try these steps to translate the following elements:
1. The custom links in menu items:
- Go to Appearance > Menus
- Switch the language to English from the top admin bar
- Select the Main menu
- Create a French translation
- Add new custom links for the French pages
2. Any text added to the page with WPbakery builder:
- Edit the French homepage with the page editor
- Edit the English text and replace it with French
- Update the page
- Update the English translation from the back end
Problem: The client installed the WPML plugin and noticed that the French version of their website displayed an unwanted sidebar on all pages. Solution: 1. We navigated to WPML >> Settings > Custom Fields Translation section. 2. We set the
"getcab_options"
field to
"Copy"
and pressed the save button. 3. Then re-saved the default language pages to apply the changes to the translated pages and it solved the issue.
