Problem: The client was experiencing an issue where translations done through the Advanced Translation Editor were not appearing on the English and Italian versions of the homepage. Despite saving the translations, the status showed 'In progress' and the translated content was not visible. Solution: We recommended the following steps to resolve the issue: 1. Ensure the client's user is added as a local translator in WPML -> Translation Dashboard -> Translators tab. 2. Assign the problematic content to themselves for translation at the bottom of the WPML -> Translation Dashboard. 3. Update the translation for the selected content in WPML -> Translations. 4. Manually edit the homepage in the secondary language using the WordPress Editor and save the changes. 5. Finish the translation of the page in WPML -> Translations. After these steps, we fixed a minor issue in the languages table in the database and cancelled the translation jobs for the problematic pages, which resolved the issue.
If this solution does not apply to your case, or if it seems outdated, we highly recommend checking related known issues at https://wpml.org/known-issues/, verifying the version of the permanent fix, and confirming that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. If the problem persists, please open a new support ticket at WPML support forum.
