Problem: The client was experiencing a 404 error on the English homepage (secondary language) instead of being redirected to the correct URL. They attempted a redirect but encountered a redirect loop.
Solution: We asked the client to provide details on how they were translating the homepage and if there were any redirections set by them. We also inquired about the use of any redirection plugins or settings in the WordPress admin under Settings -> Reading for setting a static page. We recommended a full clean of the website, including server-side, to see if the issue persists.
The client resolved the issue by changing the option on WP-Admin -> Settings -> Reading to a static page as it was set to "Recent Posts".
