Inquiry
1. We are planning to use a monthly billing system, and we were informed that the AI translation credit is 90,000.
In this case, does the credit consumption depend on the number of words included on each translated page, or is it based on the total number of words across the entire website?
2. How many languages can be used in total?
If we add more languages, does that mean additional translation credits will be consumed accordingly?
3. When the credits expire, will the system automatically charge for additional credits, or will the translation function stop until we purchase more?
Additionally, please refer to our website link and let us know if any specific data or details are required for the multilingual CMS setup. thanks for replay in ahead.
About the 90,000 credits
90,000 credits is the amount you receive for free when you purchase WPML. You can assign some or all of these credits to your site(s) when you register it, or at any time from your WPML account.
These credits are different from the credits you receive when signing up for Pay-As-You-Go (PAYG), our monthly billing system.
In both cases—whether you use the free 90,000 credits or PAYG credits—the credit consumption depends on the number of words and the translation engine you choose:
1. PTC – 4 credits per word (default, the best quility)
2. DeepL – 2 credits per word
3. Google Translate – 2 credits per word
4. Microsoft – 1 credit per word
WPML allows you to translate pages individually, in batches, or the entire site. You can choose whichever method works best for you.
What happens when credits run out
If you assign the free 90,000 credits but do not sign up for PAYG, you will not be able to use automatic translation once those credits are used—you will only be able to translate manually.
If you sign up for PAYG, you will be charged automatically as you consume credits. The system will pause only when you reach €100 in charges; at that point, you must manually approve continuing. After approval, you can keep translating, and charges will continue accordingly.
You can check your credit consumption at any time in your WPML panel:
WPML → Translation Dashboard → Translation Tools
when I have used the wpml plugin before,
there was serious problem of currency.
so I hesitate for purchasing again.

Credits and number of languages
Yes, the more languages you translate into, the more credits you will need. Most of our clients select 2–3 languages.
You can use up to 100 languages, but the cost will increase accordingly.
You can use this calculator to see how the price changes based on the number of languages. (Add link if needed.)
