Background of the issue:
I have two websites, a global website with content for EN-GB, FR, and DE, and another website for EN-US. I am trying to export EN-US content and import it to the global website. I have installed the WPML Export and Import plugin on both sites and am using the standard WP Export/Import feature. Both sites have many different posts, including custom post types for Products, Applications, etc. I've ensured the language code is the same on each site before running the export/import.
Symptoms:
When I try to import the EN-US content, I get a bunch of duplicate content. My EN-US content gets duplicated instead of being added as a translation for EN-US, and the already existing content seems to get duplicated too.
Questions:
How can I prevent duplicate content when importing EN-US content to the global website?
Is there a specific setting in WPML Export and Import that I might be missing to avoid duplication?
