Problem: The client is using WPML with DeepL to automatically translate all content on their website. They have set WPML to 'Translate Everything' mode, which automatically updates translations when the original language content is edited. The client wants to prevent automatic updates to translations after the initial translation by DeepL, even when making changes to the original language. Additionally, they are using Elementor and cannot use the 'minor edit - don't update translation' option.
Solution: We recommend switching from 'Translate Everything' mode to 'Translate What You Choose' mode. This can be done by navigating to WPML > Settings > Translation Mode.
This mode allows you to control when to update the translations. Translations will only be updated automatically if you send the post/page for translation again via Translation Management. Alternatively, you can update translations manually by going to Pages > All Pages, and clicking the circle icon to edit and complete the translation whenever you want.
