Problem:
The client developed a website using the WPResidence theme and translated it using WPML. In the English version, the 'RENTAL' filter does not show any properties even though some are linked to this filter. Properties appear after re-selecting the filter.
Solution:
We recommend the following steps to resolve the issue:
1) Ensure you have a full site backup.
2) Upgrade to the latest version of the WPResidence theme (4.22.2). For more details on the change log, visit WPResidence Change Log.
3) Navigate to WPML>>Support page, and click on the Troubleshooting link. On the Troubleshooting page, perform the following actions in the *Clean up* section, waiting for confirmation after each:
- Clear the cache in WPML
- Remove ghost entries from the translation tables
- Fix element_type collation
- Set language information
- Fix WPML tables collation
- Assign translation status to duplicated content
- Fix terms count
- Fix post type assignment
- Cleanup and optimize string tables
4) Clear all types of caches.
5) Visit Settings>>Permalinks and resave it.
Additionally, check for compatibility conflicts by:
a) Ensuring your site is backed up.
b) Temporarily switching to the WPResidence parent theme.
c) Deactivating all non-WPML related plugins and checking if the issue persists.
d) If the issue is resolved, reactivate the plugins in groups of three or four to identify any conflicts.
e) Switch back to the original theme.
