Problem:
The client was experiencing an issue where English menus were duplicating and Chinese menus were disappearing intermittently on their website. This problem persisted even after saving the menus, which temporarily resolved the issue, but it would reappear after some time.
Solution:
We identified that the issue was related to caching. We recommended clearing the cache in WPML and running several troubleshooting actions from WPML->Support->Troubleshooting, such as removing ghost entries from the translation tables and fixing element_type collation. Additionally, we discovered a specific caching issue related to menu translations losing connection and displaying as duplicates intermittently. We provided a solution by adding a snippet to the site's functions.php file, which resolved the issue.
