Background of the issue:
I installed the WPML plugin on my WordPress site link oculto. After activating it and translating my website, my media library was multiplied significantly. I followed the documentation for resetting WPML and cleaning up languages, as suggested by WPML support, but the problem worsened. I also checked the media translation documentation, but nothing has worked so far.
Symptoms:
My media library was multiplied by 5, from about 1,100 items to over 5,500, and after trying a reset method, it has now grown to over 26,000 items.
Questions:
How can I restore my media library to its original state without losing the original images or assigned images to posts/products?
How can I prevent media duplication from happening again after using WPML?
