WPML

Overview of the Issue

When you use Max Mega Menu (opens in a new tab) with WPML, the Mega Menu – Grid Layout configuration of top-level menu items may be lost when you synchronize the menu with a secondary language.

The issue is more likely to occur with menus containing deeply nested items (for example, three menu levels). After synchronization, the menu hierarchy itself may be correct, but Max Mega Menu can incorrectly detect a top-level item as a child item. As a result, its Grid Layout configuration is not preserved.

Workaround

Make a full backup of your site before you continue.

  • Open the …/wp-content/plugins/megamenu/classes/menu-item-manager.class.php file.
  • Look for line 111.
  • Replace:
    if ( $item->menu_item_parent == 0 ) {
  • With:
    if ( (int) $item->menu_item_parent === 0 ) {
  • Run the menu synchronization again.
