Overview of the issue

If you are using WPML and experiencing 404 errors on secondary language child pages, it may be related to an identified issue with the url_to_postid() function.

Workaround

Our developers are aware of this situation and working in a better url_to_postid() integration.

In the meantime, please avoid using parent pages that start with the current language URL code.
If you have child page like http://domain.com/fr/freelances/freelancing-avec-statut/ that leads to a 404 error, change the slug of “freelances” parent post to something that does not start with “fr“, e.g. “our-freelances
