WPML All Import – Importing a 3rd Language Resets Content in 2nd Language as the Default

Overview of the Issue

When importing content in a third language using WP All Import and the WPML All Import add-on on a site built with Gutenberg blocks, the content imported in the second language is reset and overwritten with content from the default language.

Workaround

This issue is fixed. Updating to the latest version solves it on your site, so you only need this workaround if you can’t update yet.

Update WP All Import Pro and WPML All Import to their latest versions. With WP All Import Pro 5.0.8 and WPML All Import 3.0.0, importing a third language keeps the content of the second language.

If you cannot update yet:

Please make a full backup of your site before proceeding.

Temporarily deactivate the WPML String Translation add-on.
Import the content in your default and secondary languages.
Reactivate String Translation.
