Background of the issue:
I am working on a site lien caché and using the WPML plugin along with WooCommerce. I have encountered an issue where new products created in the native language French don't show up in the English translated language because they seem to be out of stock. I have investigated and found that to resolve the issue, I need to force the field "_stock" to copy (instead of ignore) and disable a custom plugin of mine that gathers all WooCommerce related functions and styles. Before investigating what's wrong with my code, I need to understand why "_stock" is set to "ignore" and not "copy" by default. The screen capture does not show the lock anymore for _stock presumably because I have already tried to set the field to copy.
Symptoms:
