Problem: The client is trying to link a page in the primary language with an already existing page in the secondary language. The 'Connect with Translation' button is missing in the WPML sidebar because the page has already been translated.

The client was experiencing an issue where the language selector menu set in a specific position (top left of the template) was disappearing. The WPML Language menu setting was losing the selected menu position and showing a wrong menu. The client confirmed that no new menus were created automatically and that the issue was not due to any recent updates or changes to themes or plugins.
Solution: We recommended the client to:
1. Create a full backup of the database and website.
2. Resave the Menu switcher settings in WPML -> Languages -> Menu language switcher.
3. Visit WPML -> Support -> Troubleshooting page and perform the following actions: - Clear the Cache in WPML - Remove ghost entries from the translation tables
4. If the issue reoccurred, to create a WordPress menu for the English language by clicking on the "+" sign.
5. Follow step 3 again to see if the issue persists.
The client later reported that the issue did not reoccur, suggesting that it might have been related to the absence of a WordPress menu for the English language.
