[Chiuso] Retain the original URL

Background of the issue:
I am trying to add a hyperlink on a Spanish page that points to its English counterpart. I have done this before by adding the word 'inglés' on the page and linking it to the English page. We have reasons for wanting to do this on some pages. I am using WPML multilingual CMS v 4.8.1 and WPML string translation v 3.4.0.

Symptoms:
Even though I add the English URL using the Link Options, once I save the page, the English URL is replaced by its associated Spanish link.

Questions:
Why is the English URL being replaced by the Spanish link after saving the page?
How can I ensure that the hyperlink points to the English page as intended?
