Background of the issue:
I am trying to change the site’s default language from English to French right after installing WPML, before setting up the rest of the configuration. The issue can be seen at: link nascosto

Symptoms:
After selecting French as the default language and pressing Save, the default language remains English. The change does not take effect, and WPML still shows English as the default.

Why does the default language not change to French after saving?
Is there a specific step I am missing in the WPML setup to change the default language?
