Compatibility between WordPress Importer Plugin and WPML
WordPress Importer is compatible with WPML. The official importer brings posts, pages, comments, custom fields, categories, tags, and media into a site from a WordPress export file. It works alongside WPML, so imported content can then be assigned to a language and translated like any other content on your site.

The WordPress importer plugin allows you to import posts, pages, custom post types, comments, custom fields, and taxonomies from a WordPress export file.
We recommend using the WPML Export & Import Add-on during the process of moving multilingual content using this plugin.
Translate WordPress Importer Content with WPML
WPML translates the content this plugin creates and manages, along with the rest of your WordPress site.
