I'm not familiar with this function in Rank math, could you explain how it is configured? is it directly on the post itself?

If so, there could be a custom field related to this function that should be set to "copy" under WPML > Settings > Custom Fields Translation

I asked for an access on your previous ticket, I will take a closer look at this too once provided.

So it turns out the image is not being copied, if you edit the rank math snippet, you will see that the button "add image" is available, hence why the english page is showing the default image of the site.

And that's because the fields you set as "transalte" are not the right ones, under WPMP > Settings > Custom Fields translation, there are other Facebook image related fields, and I have set them up to "copy"

Then I redid the translation so WPML can copy the images, and it worked fine : lien caché

Now the only thing that I'm noticing, is that when I try sharing the english link, I still get the old image on this post.

Either cache is involved or this function is simply not possible, could you please create a new page > add an image to rank math snippet > Translate and then share the link on facebook and linkedin to test if the issue persists on new pages.
