Translation Basket on the staging environment becomes empty after I migrate the site to production

A very interesting and difficult to test bug appeared on my project. It refers to Translation Basket. The project itself is located on wpengine and has 2 environments STG and PROD. All translations are first translated to STG and then migrated to PROD. But after each such migration, the Translation Basket on the STG becomes empty, even if translations remained there
Are there any options as to why this might be happening?
