Background of the issue:
We are using WPML for a multilingual WooCommerce webshop with products available in both Dutch and English. You can view our setup at: lien caché.
We are currently migrating from Mailchimp to Brevo for our email marketing and automations. In Mailchimp, product automations work across languages because products are matched by their SKU, regardless of the language version ordered.
However, we’ve encountered a limitation in Brevo: only the default language version of a product (Dutch, in our case) is synced via the REST API. Orders placed using the English version of the product are not recognized by Brevo, and therefore automations are not triggered.
While we understand this is not necessarily a WPML issue, we are wondering whether this scenario is known to your technical team and if any workaround or best practice is available to ensure translated products can be recognized in such integrations.
We would greatly appreciate any guidance or suggestions you can offer, as this is a crucial part of our email automation strategy.
Symptoms:
Brevo only syncs the default language version of the product (Dutch), and the English translation is not synced via the REST API. Automations are not triggered for orders placed through the English version of the product page.
Questions:
Is this a known limitation?
Is there a workaround or solution available on the WPML side to ensure translated products are recognized or treated as the same product in synchronization?
