How to manage development v production sites

sharonH-6	I have nicaseeker.com which is currently under development. I was working on stage.nicaseeker.com and pushing through edits from this staging site to the live site (nicaseeker.com). However, I would like to edit the live site directly and want to know whether I should be selecting migrate or accessing the site from an associated domain. Or whether I put the site into production directly via the WPML dashboard? I just don't want to use translation credits or cause any issues but want to adopt the best workflow for continuing the translation process directly on the live site.
