Background of the issue:
I am trying to set up a redirect from "/fr/residents.*" to "/fr/portail-des-residents" on my WordPress site. The issue can be seen at the following link: lien caché.
Symptoms:
The redirect from '/fr/residents' or any URL extending that to '/fr/portail-des-residents' is not working. I have another rule for '/residents.*' redirecting to '/resident-portal', which works fine. Even when I remove or disable all other redirects, the French redirection does not work.
Questions:
Why is the redirect from '/fr/residents.*' to '/fr/portail-des-residents' not working?
How can I resolve the conflict between WPML and WP 301 Redirects for the French URL?
