Background of the issue:
I am using WPML, WPML SEO, and Rank Math SEO on my site link nascosto. I am trying to ensure that hreflang tags are correctly included in my sitemaps so that Google shows the appropriate language version of my site to users.

Symptoms:
I can't find any hreflang tags in my sitemaps. Google shows the default language for users searching for my site in the secondary language. When I switch to my secondary language and check the Rank Math sitemap settings, the sitemap link returns a 404 error. This issue does not occur with the primary language.

Questions:
Why are hreflang tags not appearing in my sitemaps?
Why does the sitemap link return a 404 error when using the secondary language?
How can I ensure that Google shows the correct language version of my site?
