[Risolto] translate myself

Background of the issue:
I am trying to translate product pages with WPML. I select a page and choose 'translate myself' in Translation Management.

Symptoms:
When I open the page in Translations, the page is already translated.

Questions:
Why is the page already translated when I choose 'translate myself'?
How can I ensure the page is not pre-translated?
