Background of the issue:
We have a multilingual WordPress website built using Elementor Pro and WPML with the Advanced Translation Editor (ATE) enabled. Some pages were translated successfully using ATE. Later, we made minor style/content changes to the original pages in Elementor (default language). After saving the changes, WPML flagged the translations as 'needs update.'

Symptoms:
When we opened those translations in ATE to update them, most of the previously translated content disappeared, and only the newly edited or unedited parts remained. We expected WPML to preserve previous translation memory and only require updates for changed sections, but it seems to have overwritten or removed most translations.

Questions:
Why did most of the previously translated content disappear after updating the original Elementor page?
How can we ensure that WPML preserves previous translation memory and only requires updates for changed sections?
