Problem: The client is unable to edit payment string translations on a checkout site because the original language is incorrectly displayed. The string 'Maksa kortilla' should be in English ('Pay by Card'), but it is showing in the wrong language. Solution: 1. Go to WPML -> String Translation and search for 'Maksa kortilla', making sure to check the option 'include translations'. 2. Select every version of the string that contains the English flag and change its language to Finnish using the controls below. 3. Reload the page and search again for 'Maksa kortilla'. 4. Translate all strings that exactly match 'Maksa kortilla' to 'Pay by Card'.
Problem: After migrating a website from development to a live environment, the client is unable to access string translations and is considering deactivating and reactivating WPML plugins but is concerned about losing translations. Solution: We assure you that deactivating and reactivating WPML and its related plugins will not affect your translations. However, this step is not necessary. Instead, you should update your site's status from development to production on WPML.org. If you see a "Development site" banner, generate a new site key and re-register WPML for your live site.
Upon accessing your new site URL, WPML will initiate a migration wizard to confirm the site move to production. This process will transfer all translation information to the new site address, allowing you to continue translating as before.
