Hello

A full copy of this site has been made. This site was on another server, so the database and files were copied. After this copy, we found that WPML stopped working.

If possible, we ask for your help.

By chance, have you checked warning messages like these ones explained here? https://wpml.org/documentation/translating-your-contents/advanced-translation-editor/using-advanced-translation-editor-when-you-move-or-use-a-copy-of-your-site/.

You need to select if the site has been copied or moved. Please check the difference in the doc above, and try to set it (if you can see the messages).

If you're still stuck, perhaps we're facing this issue: https://wpml.org/errata/persistent-warning-this-site-has-moved-to-a-new-location/. Kindly check if it is your case and test the workarounds provided.

Thank you very much for your reply.
We've been looking at the articles you sent us and they haven't helped.
I am attaching some print screens of areas of WPML where there is no language information.
If necessary, we can provide access to the site's BO for analysis.

Thanks for your reply.

In this case, please follow these steps:

- Just to be safe, make sure to have a website backup before proceeding
- Go to WPML -> Support in your admin dashboard
- Click the “troubleshooting” link bellow the plugin versions list
- Look for the “Clean up” section and hit these buttons:

# Clear the cache in WPML
# Remove ghost entries from the translation tables
# Fix element_type collation
# Synchronize local job ids with ATE jobs
# Synchronize translators and translation managers with ATE
# Set language information
# Fix post type assignment for translations

If the problem remains, I would like to request temporary access (wp-admin and FTP) to your site to take a better look at the issue. You will find the needed fields for this below the comment area when you log in to leave your next reply. The information you will enter is private which means only you and I can see and have access to it.

Our Debugging Procedures

I will be checking various settings in the backend to see if the issue can be resolved. Although I won't be making changes that affect the live site, it is still good practice to backup the site before providing us access. In the event that we do need to debug the site further, I will duplicate the site and work in a separate, local development environment to avoid affecting the live site.

Hi Nelson,

Thank you for providing the website credentials.

We could solve the issue by following these steps:

- We went to WPML -> Languages
- Since there was no language added in the website, we added 'French' first, and set it as the new default language
- Then we added the rest of the languages and reverted the default language to Portuguese

This seems to have done the trick. Could you please double-check and tel us if everything is fine now? Thank you.
