After using the OTGS installer to download and activate the WPML and String Translation plugins on a new website, the plugins do not appear in the WordPress plugins list despite a successful download message. Solution:
If you're experiencing this issue, we recommend you follow these steps after ensuring you have a full site backup:
Access your site via FTP or File Manager (like cPanel) and navigate to the /wp-content/plugins/ folder.
Check if the WPML plugin folders (e.g., sitepress-multilingual-cms, wpml-string-translation) are present. If they are missing, the OTGS Installer might have failed to properly download or extract them.
Scroll to the bottom of the page and click on “Download WPML manually”
Download the required plugin ZIP files manually (WPML Multilingual CMS, WPML String Translation, and WPML Media Translation)
Log in to your WordPress dashboard
Go to Plugins > Add New > Upload Plugin
Upload, install, and activate each of the ZIP files manually
