Contexte de la question:
I am trying to translate some pages from French to English using WPML. However, when I edit the translation, the source language is incorrectly set to German instead of French. The issue can be seen on this page: lien caché
Symptômes:
The source language is set to German instead of French when editing translations.
Questions:
Why is the source language set to German instead of French?
How can I change the source language to French?

Hello,
I'll help you while a supporter takes your case
The content in the screenshot is German for the source, why would you want it to be french? I mean do you have the page previously translated and want the content to appear as french and not German?
If so, please make sure that in WPML > Translation dashboard, you set the option for the source language content to be french.
Please try it out and let me know what you see in the translation dashboard page.
My source language for all website is french. I didn't change it.
First I translated to english (from french) and after that in German (from french too).
Why source language is now german when I try to edit translation on a english page ?

Were you perhaps using the German backend when you created this translation? Because the source language of this page — from which you’re translating into English — does indeed match the German content.
That's why I found a lot of problem in the english translation since some days...
How is that possible ?
Source language has always been french.
Why switch to german backend ?
How to check qhat page have this problem (of wrong source language) ?
Les langues: Anglais (English )Allemand (Deutsch )Français (Français )

I checked the page lien caché, and there don’t seem to be any language assignment issues there — it’s correctly set and displaying in English.
As for how the other page ended up with German as the source, it likely happened because the translation was started from the German version instead of the French one. In WPML, when you open a page in the German backend and create or edit a translation from there, WPML assumes German is the original language.
So, even if the main source content was originally in French, the moment the translation was created from the German backend, WPML reassigned the source language to German.
I have a lot of problem because of this wrong source language.
It looks a lot of english pages are in the wrong source language.
Also the page : lien caché
That make big problem when people try to order (no confirmation order).
How to set all english page to french source language ?
I don't understand how it's possible on my side to change to German backend and translate again pages from german to english (that where already translated from French to English since a long time).

To better understand the situation, could you help clarify why the current source-language setup is causing issues on your side? At the moment it is not entirely clear to me what part of the workflow is not working as it should.
Regarding the checkout confirmation page (lien caché
), could you please record a short screen capture using a tool such as Loom lien caché, or alternatively provide screenshots of what exactly fails? This would help identify whether the problem is directly related to the source language configuration or if something else is involved.
1 - I woud like to have only french source page. When I modify french, translation in english and german are automated.
I don't want to have source page in German (like today)
2 - For checkout problem, let's see later. Would be happy first to get all pages in french source.
So how to check which page are not correctly set ?
And how put french source instead german ?
