Hello

I noticed an issue with the woocommerce related products. I use this widget only for one category: foot-pedal interface items and the single product template for this category is also called foot-pedal.
The issue is:the displayed related products are the ones I set Woocommerce when I open the page in English, but when I change the language, different products are displayed, from the same category but not the ones that should appear. I checked the translations and I think they all have been updated.
Thank you for your help

Best regards
Patrick

Hi Patrick,

Thank you for contacting us and I'd be happy to assist.

To troubleshoot this, I'll need to see how this related products widget and WPML are set up in the admin area.

Can you please share temporary admin login details, along with the exact steps to see the issue?

Note: Your next reply will be private and making a complete backup copy is recommended before sharing the access details.

regards,
Waqar

Hello Waqar

Thanks for your reply

You can see the issue for instance for this product:

The displayed related products are as set in woocommerce. If you change the language, the related products change and are different from those I entered.

Thanks for you help

Best regards

Thank you for sharing the access details.

The access details worked earlier, but right now the website is showing the '503 - Service Unavailable' error.

During troubleshooting on my website, I couldn't reproduce this issue with the related products. I couldn't find any other report about a similar issue, from other users either.

This suggests that something specific to your website is involved and I'll need your permission to download a clone/snapshot and investigate this on a different server.

Can you please get in touch with your hosting support and get this '503 - Service Unavailable' error fixed? Once the website is back online, let me know and I'll download the website's clone.

Hello

Sorry, the reason for it is that the site is live now and the previous production site is now the current staging site. The URL is the same, but without "staging"

Thank you for sharing the updated link.

I've checked the product that you earlier referenced ( 'FORM® MTB Walkable Beenlängt-Shims V2' ) and noticed that it is showing the correct 4 related products, in all languages.

Can you please check this again and let me know if the related products are not showing correctly for some other product's translations?

Hello

I didn't check all the product but for this one, it doesn't work: lien caché
And what I don't understand is the slug with the German translation for a product on the English page.

Kind regards
Patrick

Hi Patrick,

I can see the difference between the related products of the Primary (English) language and the translated languages, for the products you shared.

During troubleshooting, I couldn't find any option or setting which would result in this difference.

This 'Related Products for WooCommerce' plugin that you're using on the website is not among the officially compatible plugins for WPML. But, with your permission, we can download a clone/snapshot of your website to investigate this on a different server.

regards,
Waqar

The link worked, thank you.

I've downloaded the website's clone and will share the findings, by the end of the day today.

Thank you for waiting, while I completed this testing on your website's clone.

I was able to fix the issue of different related products showing between the primary language and the translated product pages, by following these steps:

1). Please go to WP Admin -> WPML -> Settings -> Custom Fields Translation.

2). Use the link 'Show system fields' and when the page refreshes, search for the hidden custom field '_crp_related_ids'

3). Select the option 'Copy' for this field and use the save button.
( screenshot: lien caché )

4). Lastly, clear all the involved caches and you'll see that the related products will be the same for the translated products too.

Hello

I cannot check if it helped as since then, my site has lots of broken links; the menues don't work either. Do you think it is related to your intervention?

Kind regards
Patrick

Patrick

Hi again

I think the broken lins are not related and this issue is solved.

But the issue I contacted you for is still not solved, sorry. I tried what you proposed, but it didn't help. Maybe it's about the cache clearing method. How do you recommend me to clear the cache?

Kind regards
Patrick
