I understand what you're looking. If you don't want to duplicate images in other languages, go to "WPML > Settings", scroll to the "Media Translation" section, and under "How to handle media for new content," uncheck the options shown in this screenshot(link nascosto) and click "Apply". The options that you've unchecked previously are more like troubleshooting options to adjust images in each language and if you refresh the page, they will appear selected again.

If you want to display a different image for each language, you’ll need to use the WPML Media Translation plugin. This plugin enables you to add unique images or media files for each language.
