I understand that you don't want to index the secondary language on your site. If you're using an SEO plugin like Yoast SEO or RankMath, there is an option to make a page non-indexable. Simply open the translated page in the WordPress editor and use that option to set it as non-indexable. You can refer to the links below for detailed instructions:
In this way, you can set individual pages as non-indexable.
However, if you want to prevent an entire language from being indexed, you need to take a bit of custom coding approach. Please refer to the response in the ticket below for guidance on how to set everything in a particular language as non-indexable.
