Thank you for your patience and for taking the time to migrate your site,

I did a couple of tests and found out the following :

1- When disabling WPML core plugin, the site is indeed faster
2- I disabled all your 77 plugins one by one and tested the speed with WPML enabled
3- The database numerous requests was fixed the moment I disabled WP-Rocket and Sticky Links

After digging around, I temporarily installed Query Monitor to log the database requests and I found the following :

1- WP rocket : There was a recent update by WP rocket that targets some performance issues with WPML, you could read more about the changelog here : lien caché

2- Sticky links: I found errors related to it, for example this one :

3- the following changes in the environment eased the slowness :
- Save a backup
- Update WP rocket to 3.15.5
- Are you using WPML sticky links add-on? this is a very old plugin of ours and users tend to install it even though they do not need it, if you do not use it, please disable it
- Test the new environment as it helped me lower the loading speed by half in the Cloud ways copy
- Lastly, if that didn't help, please test disabling WPML string translation for a couple of minutes and see if the loading speed helps on the live site.
